WIP: First stab at creds add-* subcommands 2014-07-22 02:05:55 -05:00
James Lee 6237d56398
Refactor ssh_login_pubkey
* Fix a bug in LoginScanner::SSHKey (which was copy-pasted from SSH)
where the ssh_socket accessor was not being set because of a
   shadowing local var
 * Fix a bug in the db command dispatcher where an extra column was
added to the table, causing an unhandled exception when running the
   creds command
 * Add a big, ugly, untested class for imitating
Metasploit::Framework::CredentialCollection for ssh keys. This class
continues the current behavoir of silently ignoring files that are a)
encrypted or b) not private keys.
 * Remove unnecessary proof gathering in the module (it's already
   handled by the LoginScanner class)

Make creds command show Metasploit::Credentials
This attempts to change the output of the command as little as possible,
but removes the ability to add and delete for now. At some point, we'll
need to add that back in.

Msf::DBManager#connection_established?
MSP-9653

Calling `ActiveRecord::Base.establish_connection`, followed by
`ActiveRecord::Base.connected?` returns false unless some other code
requires a connection to be checked out first. The correct way to check
if the spec passed to `ActiveRecord::Base.establish_connection` is to
checkout a connection and then ask if it is active.
`Msf::DBManager#connection_established?` does the checkout, active check
and checkin, and should be used in place of
`ActiveRecord::Base.connected?` and
`ActiveRecord::Base.connection_pool.connected?`.
`Msf::DBManager#active` should still be used as it also checks for
adapter/driver usability and that migrations have run.

nstarke bb6201d66d Fixing nil bug and making format constant
The date format has been moved into a constant variable.
Certain modules do not have a disclosure_date. For example,
‘checkvm’. This necessitated checking disclosure_date for nil
before attempting a format conversion. Also, there was an additional
location in core.rb that needed the formatting / nil check added. Specs
were also updated appropriately.

SeeRM #8795

The disclosure date field in the results from the search command
where returning with a timestamp that was almost always 00:00:00 UTC. I added a bit of date time formatting to only
include the year (4 digit), month (2 digit), and day (2 digit)
in the following format: Y-m-d. This date time formatting
applies to both searches conducted through the database instance
as well as searches performed without a database (slow search).

I don't believe this opens an untoward attack vector -- if your attacker

msfconsole 'edit' command
Useful for quick editing a module during development / bug fixing. I
don't really see a security issue with running a command defined in the
user's VISUAL or EDITOR environment variables; if the user can run
msfconsole to begin with, there are better ways to get into trouble.

James Lee a0d113d754 Fix a bug that deleted too many hosts
When running a command that takes host ranges as arguments (e.g.,
`hosts`, `services`), the arguments get parsed by
Rex::Socket::RangeWalker. If RangeWalker was unable to parse, it would
return nil, which in this context means "all hosts." If the user is
searching, they get all hosts instead of the ones they were interested
in -- this is annoying, but not too big a deal. Unfortunately, the same
logic applied when *deleting* hosts, with `hosts -d ...`, causing all
hosts to be deleted when giving it an invalid range.

RageLtMan 987d6a671f Allow passing MaxChar to Rex::Ui::Text::Table cols
Passing MaxChar allows setting the maximum number of characters
printed within a specific column during the row_to_s method.
This does not affect CSV output nor truncate the actual data.
Meant for tidying up long console ouput.

Example: cleaned up cmd_creds to show proof and not maul tables

Luke Imhoff af4b3fa287 Use ActiveRecord::Migrator multiple migrations paths support
[#44034071]

ActiveRecord::Migrator has a class attribute, migrations_paths,
specificially for storing a list of different directories that have
migrations in them. ActiveRecord::Migrator.migrations_paths is used in
rake db:load_config, which is a dependency of db:migrate, etc. that is
passed to ActiveRecord::Migrator.migrate. Since migrate supports an
array of directories, and not just a single directory, there is no need
to merge all the migrations paths into one temporary directory as was
previously done.

* Fixes a bug in shikata where input greater than 0xffff length would

* Short circuits finding bad xor keys if there are no bad characters to

* Fixes huge performance issue with large inputs to xor-based encoders
due to the use of String#+ instead of String#<< in a loop. It now
takes ~3 seconds on modern hardware to encode a 750kB buffer with
shikata where it used to take more than 10 minutes. The decoding side
takes a similar amount of time and will increase the wait between
sending the second stage and opening a usable session by several
  seconds.

Tod Beardsley 725b085ef2 If there are no search results, try harder.
Sometimes, the database is active but the cache isn't filled out, or
doesn't contain the module you want. This can come up especially when
msfconsole first starts and you are programmatically searching for
modules, for whatever reason.

This allows for falling back to the regular (slow) search in the event
no hits have been returned. It does not actually address the caching
problem seen in QA, but it's generally going to be Good Enough. Search
is getting overhauled Real Soon Now anyway.

Luke Imhoff df9db42c32 Fix module reloading
[#36737359]

The merging of reload_module and the various load_module methods
resulted in the module loading from disk, but because the Hash entry in
the module manager was not deleted before on_module_load was called, the
newly reloaded module was logged as an ambiguous module name instead of
a reload. In order to report the reload errors correctly, I determined
that module_load_error_by_reference_name should really be
module_load_error_by_path. I eliminated faild in favor of this new name
since failed was just calling the attribute and the attribute's name is
clearer about the format of the data.

Tested by run rexploit and then exiting over and over with
ms08_067_netapi. When I messed up the file so it couldn't load, by
adding `inclde Exploit` (note mispelling of `include`), it reported the
error to msfconsole. When I removed the bad line and added a puts
"RELOADING <n>", where I kept incrementing n and saving the file, the
new number appeared during each rexploit.

[#36737359]

Refactor the behavior of loading symbolic modules from cache by renaming

All Database usage must go through framework.db (which should have been
the case before, anyways) or explicitly checkout and checkin a

random failures when attempting to use the database.

This commit also explicitly releases database connections at the end of
all threads created via framework.threads.spawn, which should alleviate

Tod Beardsley 4bcbdc54c9 Cutting over rails3 to master.
This switches the Metasploit Framework to a Rails 3 backend. If you run
into new problems (especially around Active Record or your postgresql
gem) you should try first updating your Ruby installation to 1.9.3 and
use a more recent 'pg' gem.

If that fails, we'd love to see your bug report (just drop all the
detail you can into an issue on GitHub). In the meantime, you can
checkout the rails2 branch, which was branched from master immediately
before this cutover.

    Conflicts:

    	lib/msf/core/handler/reverse_https.rb
    	modules/auxiliary/scanner/discovery/udp_probe.rb
    	modules/auxiliary/scanner/discovery/udp_sweep.rb

Resolved conflicts with the reverse_http handlers and the udp probe /
scanners byt favoring the more recent changes (which happened to be the
intent anyway). The reverse_http and reverse_https changes were mine so
I know what the intent was, and @dmaloney-r7 changed udp_probe and
udp_sweep to use pcAnywhere_stat instead of merely pcAnywhere, so the
intent is clear there as well.

Tod Beardsley a957c45daf Tidies up sempervictus's search patch
Affects the console's db commands of hosts, services, vulns, creds, notes,
loot

Skips searching entirely unless a search term is provided, and
explicitly casts the term as a Regexp object from the outset.

Avoids using Object#to_sym in preference of Object#intern (safer in
nearly all cases)

Temporarily disables functionality on notes since Array#keep_if isn't
available prior to Ruby 1.9.2

This adds categories for the various interfaces that meterpreter and
shell sessions implement so they are grouped logically in the docs.

Combine the docs into one output dir

There's really no need to separate the API sections into their own
directory. Combining them makes it much easier to read.

Author: James Lee <egypt@metasploit.com>
Date: Tue Feb 28 08:27:22 2012 -0700

Keep the order of iface attributes the same accross rubies

1.8 doesn't maintain insertion order for Hash keys like 1.9 does so we
end up with ~random order for the display with the previous technique.
Switch to an Array instead of a Hash so it's always the same.
