Jo-Philipp Wich	2a473ebe19	iptables: fix multiport match for brcm-2.4 Since the netfilter framework in Linux 2.4 lacks support for target and match revisioning, iptables falls back to the v0 implementation of multiport while only v1 is implemented on the kernel side, leading to an invalid argument error when trying to insert rules using multiport. Felix Fietkau	d692a2340c	mac80211: always use wpa_supplicant for client connections (patch by Stijn Tintel) Since client mode in mac80211is unreliable without using wpa_supplicant, it would be better to enable wpa_supplicant by default. With this patch, wpa_supplicant will always be used for mac80211-based drivers in client mode. This will break client mode for images that don't include wpa_supplicant or wpad, so maybe I need to add a check somewhere to see if wpa_supplicant is available, and show the user a warning if he tries client mode without wpa_supplicant. Suggestions on where to add this check are welcome. Tested with ath5k in client mode on open and wpa2-psk network, and tested on my ath9k based AP as well to make sure it doesn't break AP mode. Felix Fietkau	679cab88fe	Fix a memory leak in hotplug2 environment handling. Bump hotplug2 to the latest svn revision, remove obsolete patches. Memory leak is caused by the way hotplug2 handles environment variables, using setenv() and unsetenv(). setenv() creates copies of the supplied strings, but, due to a POSIX blunder, these copies are never destroyed by unsetenv(), neither in glibc nor uclibc - not until the program terminates. Since some events are handled directly in the main process, even when configured with the "fork" worker, hotplug2 memory usage will keep growing over time. This can be observed by running "udevtrigger" and noting the increase in hotplug2 VmRSS after each run. This patch uses putenv() instead, which leaves storage management to the caller, so that we can explicitly delete stuff when it's no longer needed. Felix Fietkau	61a94268ec	Add default /etc/dnsmasq.conf dnsmasq allows adding of arbitrary SRV/PTR/TXT/CNAME records. However, those options sometimes can not be passed as command-line arguments due to excess length. This patch tries to solve this problem: 1. Provide /etc/dnsmasq.conf file with comments about adding SRV/PTR/TXT/CNAME records. 2. Add this file to conffiles list so it is preserver during backup/restore or system upgrade. If someone needs a lot of custom records, default configuration file can be edited. Felix Fietkau	c067858fdf	dnsmasq startup script update: add notinterface parameter This tiny patch makes the dnsmasq init.d script listen to a parameter called "notinterface", which tells dnsmasq to not listen on a defined set of interfaces. By default dnsmasq always listens on the loopback interface, even if you tell it to specifically listen on a certain other interface. Sometimes this is not desirable behaviour, so you might want to turn it off. This is useful when, for example, you want to have your own DNS server listening on the loopback interface. Geoff Levand	525d86686e	udev: Update udev package from udev-106 to udev-142 Update the init scripts have to use udevadm where appropriate. The udev package no longer provides separate udev utilities like udevtrigger and udevsettle. These have been incorporated into the udev admin program udevadm. Replace the udevextras sub package with config options to the udev package. Update the preinit script to check for '/lib/udev/devices', and copy it to '/dev/ if it is found, then to conditionaly setup /dev the old way with mknod etc. Udev now recommends using the directory '/lib/udev/devices' to initialize the '/dev' directory at startup. This is fixed by providing a special version of libtool fixup for packages which should use uclibc++. Not pretty but functional. Packages linking against uclibc++ should use PKG_FIXUP:=libtool-ucxx instead of PKG_FIXUP:=libtool Somebody should probably check all packages using c++ with a dependency on stdlibc++ if uclibc++ can be used instead now. Currently sta mode works provided that you have an AP enabled as well but it doesn't work if you have a sta interface but not an AP. I found that merely reversing the order of the ap and apsta variables in the broadcom.sh script corrects this problem, and the attached patch does exactly that. It leaves mac80211 and b43 in different states. mac80211's hw->queues will be left at 4 (QoS enabled), while QoS will be disabled inside of b43's queue handling. There currently is no way to disable QoS after loading the firmware. Buildroot should probably statically change the module parameter to QoS=0, if the opensource firmware is built into the image.
